Born in Bordeaux in 1992, Olivia Appelius discovered her artistic sensibility at a very early age through painting, which she experimented with as a self-taught artist influenced by her painter parents, and music and dance, practiced at the Maurice Ravel Conservatory. These early explorations of movement, form, color and harmony nurtured her eye and awakened her passion for art in all its forms.
It was in Venice, during her first artistic sojourn, that everything really began. The magic of the place, the rich contrasts between light and shadow and the timeless atmosphere of the floating city marked a decisive turning point in his career. This key moment gave birth to an artistic quest centered on matter, sensuality and the relationship between the visible and the invisible.
Over the years, Olivia has enjoyed an increasing number of artistic residencies abroad, in Italy, Spain and Austria. These international experiences are sources of inspiration that enrich her multidisciplinary and poetic approach.
Since moving to the Gard region of southeastern France, she continues to draw on this rich experience. Rooted in the beauty of local landscapes, she nourishes her art with the light and textures that surround her. Her exhibitions in France and abroad bear witness to a career marked by the constant search for a dialogue between soul, matter and imagination.
